Ms. Birungi is a dedicated Risk Management and Compliance professional with extensive experience in the insurance and financial services sectors. She brings a strong focus on enterprise risk management, regulatory compliance, and driving a proactive risk culture within organizations.

She holds a Diploma in Enterprise Risk Management (currently pursuing) and an International Certificate in Enterprise Risk Management from the Institute of Risk Management UK, is pursuing her ACCA UK qualification, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Quantitative Economics from Makerere University.

Her career includes roles such as Enterprise Risk Manager at Action Against Hunger USA, where she was responsible for maintaining risk registers, facilitating risk control self-assessments, establishing risk management policies, and conducting awareness training. Previously, as an In-Country and Divisional Risk and Compliance Officer for UAP Old Mutual Uganda Entities (covering General Insurance, Life Business, and Asset Management), she managed the risk and compliance landscape, developed regulatory universes, and provided board-level reporting. Her analytical skills and detail-oriented approach are key to advising clients on navigating the complexities of the insurance sector and the evolving digital finance landscape.
